The dashboard
What the chain across your tax year card actually means, and which number to chase first.
The card at the top shows the chain for your working tax year. It is not a progress bar for tidiness — each node is a real step, and it is lit from the real state of your ledger.
Reading the chain
- Import — you have committed at least one statement.
- Categorize — every transaction has a category. If this is amber, some rows are still sitting in the review queue.
- Reconcile — opening plus credits minus debits equals closing, to the rupee. A red link here means the year does not balance yet, and every number downstream of it is provisional.
- Review — nothing is waiting on an answer from you.
- Export — the year has been filed.
A red link is the one to chase. Categories can be corrected later; an unreconciled year means money is missing or duplicated, and no amount of categorizing fixes that.
The four cards
Tax year status carries the unreconciled figure. When it reaches zero it turns gold, which is the only time this product congratulates you about anything.
Review queue counts the transactions the engine refused to guess at. They are on no line of your return until they are answered — which is exactly how income goes missing from a filing.
Vault holds statements, certificates and receipts. You can share one document with a lawyer without giving them the rest.
Lawyer shows your engagement. You can always file yourself; handing over is a choice, not a requirement.
